Poetry Night at Pozzolengo Celebrates Local Authors and Community Spirit
Poetry Evening at the Polivalent Center
Enjoyable and cheerful evening at the Polivalent Center where the Pozzolengo Pensioners Association hosted an event dedicated to poetry written by local authors.
Yes, because it was discovered that in Pozzolengo there are many people who have put thoughts into rhyme, in either the local language or dialect.
Returning to the evening, five “poets for a night” were present, (some could not attend). Guglielmo Dal Corso, Rita Santorum, Oliva Andreoli, Franco Brunati, and Mrs. Baroni.
Due to health reasons, Daniela Ricchelli could not be present, who is part of the prestigious Mantuan poetry society “Il Fogoler.”
Notable Contributions and Poems
After the introduction by the president of the Pensioners Association, Bruno Croveglia, the reading of the poems by the authors began.
Humorous and reflecting moments of life, such as the disappearance of numerous wells, were the themes of Guglielmo Dal Corso’s poems.
Epithodes and characters from Pozzolengo of Yesterday were narrated by Rita Santorum.
Fun and addressed to friends, instead, were the poems of Franco Brunati, who, among other things, being “a son of art,” read some of his father Ninì’s poems—an artist of Pozzolengo who passed away years ago.
A humorous poem dedicated to Franco Brunati himself was read by Mrs. Baroni.
Finally, Oliva Andreoli presented three short poems, including one won last summer, the first prize at the dialect poetry contest promoted by the Comunità del Garda, held in Polpenazze del Garda.
Also by Oliva Andreoli, her first volume of poems was introduced on Sunday at Palazzo Todeschini in Desenzano del Garda.
Atmosphere and Guests
In Pozzolengo that evening, there were no cameras or photographers, but lots of friendliness and camaraderie.
An evening shared among simple people, although a sense of pride was added by the presence of Franco Piavoli, also a poet, and a well-known figure in the community.
