Pozzolengo Hosts Celebrated Bell Festival with Ten Groups Attending

Pozzolengo was, for a few days, a small and joyful capital of bells. Indeed, in recent days, the cheerful “Campanary Review” organized by the local Gruppo Campanario took place, set against the enchanting backdrop of the ancient castle.

Participants and Organization

Ten groups participated in the event. “We had to decline just as many due to space limitations,” says Franco Biasetti, director of the Gruppo Campanari di Pozzolengo. “Although we are the only Brescia-based group in a context filled with many groups from Verona and Vicenza, our invitation is always sought after by all enthusiasts’ associations.”

The Bells and Their History

Pozzolengo boasts a beautiful set of six bells tuned in D-flat major, installed on one of the castle’s towers. The bells were installed in 1929: for the inauguration, the famous team of bell-ringers from Santo Stefano di Verona, led by Maestro Pietro Sancassani, performed. He composed and dedicated a homage to the bells, titled “Homage to Pozzolengo.”

Conclusion and Final Moment

After the performances by the groups, there was a refreshment for everyone, bell-ringers and spectators alike, marking the end of the festival.
