In Toscolano Maderno, opposition is growing against the installation of 5G antennas. A group of residents has formed the committee “Health Community Territory,” initiating a petition to urge the local administration to oppose the expansion of telecommunications infrastructure. The committee has drafted a petition addressed to the mayor, as the highest local health authority, requesting a ban on new base stations and the implementation of existing antennas with 5G, 6G, and 7G technologies.
Among the requests are also calls for greater development of fiber optic/copper networks, which are considered less harmful compared to wireless transmissions, and the restoration of previously established emission limits for existing antennas. Until February 20, committee members will be present every Thursday at the weekly market on Viale Marconi, from 9 AM to 12:30 PM, to gather signatures for the petition and raise community awareness on health-related issues in the area.
