Province Allocates €428 Million for Alto Garda and Ledro Projects, Including Roads, Cycle Paths and Schools

The Province announced about 428 million euros for Alto Garda and Ledro road works, 80 million for new cycling routes (with emphasis on completing the Garda Cycleway’s Trentino section), 33 million for school buildings, and 50 million for environmental works. The figures were presented at a Dro Municipality press conference after the provincial cabinet and a joint session with the Dro town council, in the presence of President Maurizio Fugatti and Mayor Ginetta Santoni.

Fugatti identified the Trento–Riva link as a strategic priority ahead of the 2031 World Championships. The cycling plan includes an initial Trento to the SP85 Bondone junction segment for about 5 million euros, with a second segment from the junction to Cadine under feasibility study at about 20 million due to a required natural tunnel. Road investments include the Passo San Giovanni connection at Cretaccio (over 187 million), plus Torbole (about 150 million) and Molina di Ledro (about 52 million) variants. In education, the program funds the expansion and seismic upgrading of Liceo A. Maffei (~32.2 million) and maintenance at CFP Enaip Varone and Itet “G. Floriani.” Environmental works cover the Maza landfill remediation (~39 million) and Arco wastewater treatment plant modernization (~5.3 million). Mayor Santoni also asked the Province for support to restore Torre Guaita and the ex Canonica di Pietramurata, funding for a day center and elderly housing at Residenza di Molina di Dro, investigations on Gaggiolo sewerage, and the aqueducts’ industrial plan.
