Lonato: Renovation Works on Piazza Corlo Set to Begin in August The Municipality of Lonato has officially announced that on Monday, August 18, the renovation works on Piazza Corlo will commence. This long-awaited project will focus on the northern part of the square, towards Brescia, and is expected to last approximately two months. Following discussions with the Neighborhood Councillors and the Merchants’ Association to avoid overlaps with other construction sites, the local administration has planned traffic management during the construction period to ensure the safety of residents and motorists. The first phase includes the removal of the current roundabout and the resurfacing of about 648 square meters.
In addition to the works on Piazza Corlo, the closure of Via E. Accordini is scheduled for July to facilitate the refurbishment of the water supply system, which is necessary before the main construction site begins. This intervention will be divided into two phases: the first will last 40-60 days and will concern the Brescia side; the second, dedicated to the Verona side, will require 60-80 days and cannot start until after the end of summer to ensure proper installation of the stone materials. During Phase 1, modifications to local traffic will be implemented to facilitate the safe passage of vehicles and maintain access to surrounding areas.
