Record of registrations in Salò: open water swimming at the Fondo in the Gulf
A new participation record has been set in Salò for the 12th edition of the Fondo nel Golfo, scheduled for Saturday, June 28. This open water swimming event has attracted an impressive 520 participants, with 380 enthusiasts ready to compete in the main race and 139 athletes taking part in the Lombardy Regional Championship of Fondo. The 4.5 km and 3 km courses are already sold out, while a few spots remain available for the 1.5 km route. The event will kick off at 4:30 PM from Sirena Beach, near the headquarters of the Canottieri Garda, where the regional title will also be awarded.
The event’s organization includes high safety measures: navigation will be suspended during the races, and there will be vessels from the Coast Guard and the Financial Police, supported by over 50 volunteers from the Canottieri Garda, including lifeguards with FIN certification. The day promises to be a great success for swimming enthusiasts and a celebration of local sports.
