Two workers from Gavardo recently returned a significant sum of money they found on the street to the Local Police, demonstrating an act of integrity. After a year had passed without anyone claiming ownership of the money, the authorities contacted the two men to return the funds to them. “We are two workers, we do not own a home, and we know well what it means to earn this kind of money,” they stated during the handover.
The law stipulates that after 12 months, if the owner does not come forward, the lost item belongs to the finder. In this instance, the two workers expressed their intention to donate a portion of the money to charity to help those in need. The Local Police of Valle Sabbia highlighted this incident as an example of great nobility of spirit.
