Religion Today at MART: Cinema, Costume and Identity on September 20

Religion Today will return to MART in Rovereto on Sunday, 20 September, with an event exploring how clothing can reveal identity, origins and belonging. The program, held in the museum’s conference hall from 15:00, includes a roundtable discussion and two film screenings focused on the role of costume in cinema and religious dialogue.

The edition is titled “L’abito fa il monaco?” and the afternoon discussion—“Vestire l’anima: costume, cinema e il valore di ciò che indossiamo”—will examine how what people wear shapes identity and how these themes are represented on screen. At 17:00, attendees will watch *Gianni Versace, l’imperatore dei sogni* (2023, 110 minutes) by Mimmo Calopresti, followed at 18:30 by *Brunello, il visionario Garbato* (2025, 120 minutes) by Giuseppe Tornatore. Admission is free, and the event is organized in collaboration with MART.
