A **14-year-old German boy** was rescued off the coast of **Malcesine** after drifting during a **windsurfing** session. The alert was raised due to reports of a person in distress in the water, nearly a kilometer from shore, caused by strong winds and waves. The search operations were coordinated by the Operations Room of the **Coast Guard**, which also mobilized local firefighters and volunteers. After about 40 minutes, the young boy was recovered unharmed; he had lost the sail and broken the mast of his windsurf board, leaving him without any means of maneuvering.
The rescue is part of a broader context of increasing activity by the Coast Guard, which has conducted several interventions in recent hours. Notably, on August 15th, a young tourist was injured in the leg by the propeller of a rental boat and was transported to the hospital. Following these incidents, the Coast Guard reiterated the importance of adhering to certain recommendations for those engaging in water sports: check weather conditions, wear a life jacket, and avoid venturing out alone without informing someone.
