Rescue Training Turns Real in Breno Avalanche Drill
A recent training exercise conducted by the V Delegation of CNSAS Lombardy focused on avalanche rescue techniques and snow terrain transport. Eighteen rescuers, supervised by four regional instructors, practiced simulated scenarios including avalanche approach, buried victim searches, and patient transport using toboggans and snow stretchers, with rope rescue techniques.
During the exercise, a real avalanche was triggered at a distance, prompting immediate intervention by the team, highlighting the importance of readiness and pre-positioned equipment. CNSAS emphasizes regular drills to adapt to changing environmental conditions and ensure effective response capabilities.
