ASST Garda, in collaboration with the Carolina Zani Melanoma Foundation, is promoting the 2024 edition of “RIGUARDATI – Keep an Eye on Your Skin”. This is a campaign for the early diagnosis of melanoma that offers citizens a free dermatological visit with mole mapping.

To participate in the campaign, it is necessary to be between 18 and 70 years old and have at least one of the following risk factors: family history of melanoma, history of sunburns and repeated sunburns, prolonged use of tanning beds, a high number of moles (more than 50), and very fair skin.

The initiative will take place at the Desenzano del Garda Hospital starting from April 19th. There are 250 spots available and reservations are mandatory until all spots are filled. To make a reservation, you can call the number 030.9054243 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM only on Tuesdays, from April 2nd to June 4th.

“I would like to thank the Carolina Zani Melanoma Foundation for choosing ASST Garda once again for this campaign against melanoma,” comments Roberta Chiesa, General Director of ASST Garda. “In Italy, melanoma is the third most common cancer under the age of 50, in both sexes. Although it represents only 5% of skin cancers, it is certainly the most aggressive, which is why early diagnosis is very important.”

The Carolina Zani Melanoma Foundation ETS was established in 2021 in memory of Carolina, the daughter of founder Patrizia Ondelli, who passed away prematurely due to melanoma. It is a non-profit organization based in Brescia that has been promoting initiatives for the prevention and early diagnosis of melanoma for years.

It is important to emphasize that the initiative is managed and offered by the Carolina Zani Melanoma Foundation and that the services are not covered by the National Health System.
