Riva Civic Library Summer Workshops for Children, July-August

Starting Monday, July 9, and continuing until August 31, the summer activity program of the Riva Civic Library will take place. Initially, books can be borrowed by visiting the “section” set up at the Colonia Sabbioni. Then, in the second week, the “creative workshops” will begin, open to children aged 5 to 10 years.

From Monday, July 16 to Friday, July 20 (from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 6 PM), a workshop titled “Sherlock Holmes among the books: on the trail of the mysteriously disappeared character” will be held, organized by the Associazione Culturale Antigone di Trento. Children from 8 to 10 years old (inclusive) can register. It involves team games searching for clues to find the protagonists of famous fairy tales who, mysteriously, have vanished.

From Monday, July 23 to Friday, July 27, the workshop “Forms and colors by the lake: a playful journey through creativity and scientific observations” will take place, coordinated by Gabriella Sassano and Alessandra Festi. Age: 5 to 7/8 years (inclusive). Sometimes, to “play” and have fun, children need little: a few stones, dirt, sticks, water…

Curious about what they find, collect, touch, and manipulate, children notice differences and begin to explore what can be made from these items and whether something particularly interests them, thinking of preserving it carefully. Children will be invited to be explorers, researchers, attentive observers to discover small scientific secrets, and to be painters, sculptors, inventors to uncover artistic secrets.

The third and final workshop organized by the library will run from Monday, August 27 to Friday, August 31. The title is “Alice’s cake in the frame:… puppets and more”, led by Gabriella Sassano and Simona Barbero. A small performance will provide inspiration for a workshop on puppet-making techniques and theatrical dramatization. Age: 8 to 10 years.
