A humanitarian initiative has taken root in the municipalities of Alto Garda and Ledro, including Riva del Garda, in response to the crisis afflicting the Gaza Strip. On July 27 at 9:45 PM, an event titled “Gaza is Dying of Hunger: Let’s Break the Silence” will take place in Piazza Cavour in Riva del Garda, promoted by a group of intellectuals including Tomaso Montanari and Paola Caridi. This appeal aims to shatter the indifference toward the ongoing humanitarian tragedy, inviting participants to ring bells, sound sirens, and use other instruments to raise their voices against the silence surrounding the suffering of the Gazan population.
The gathering will culminate with the ringing of the bell from the Apponale civic tower in Piazza Tre Novembre, a symbolic gesture to underscore the urgency of delivering humanitarian aid to the region. The organizations involved are urging all citizens to join the event, even individually, to express their solidarity and call on the Italian government for concrete actions towards an immediate ceasefire. The message is clear: do not remain silent in the face of a crisis that continues to claim innocent lives.
