Riva del Garda Hits Record Visitors at Expo Riva Hotel & Food

The overall outcome is certainly positive, and the 24th edition of the “Expo Riva Hotel – Expo Riva Food” concludes successfully. This is a brief summary of the results that could be gathered yesterday from Palacongressi, as the absence of Director Righi until Monday prevents a more detailed analysis of the data.

30,000 visitors compared to 24,000 in the previous edition, an increase in exhibitors (thanks, of course, to the expansion of the exhibition area), from 255 in 1999 to 270 this year. A controlled flow of visitors that did not require particular “attention” from the control authorities, meaning that incidents related to the influence of Bacchus, which occurred in past editions, did not recur.

Concerns and Aspects to Verify

Only one report, but still to be confirmed, of the disappearance of some microwave ovens by an exhibitor. Up to yesterday, no official complaints had been filed with law enforcement authorities. Therefore, Palacongressi is satisfied.

The efforts to present Riva del Garda in the best possible light, after years of difficulties, are slowly achieving the goals set by the Riva del Garda institution. The new element of conferences surrounding the Expo has received positive feedback.

Conferences and Related Initiatives

The round table promoted by the Unione Commercio e Turismo has provided insights at the provincial level, especially now that the proposal to revise the law by Marco Benedetti, the assessor, is under discussion.

The accompanying international culinary competition for cuisine and bar service, organized by the Centro di Formazione Professionale Alberghiero del Varone, saw young promising chefs from various schools or hotel institutes representing different ethnicities compete in the kitchen.

Among the participants were Slovenes, Danes, Russians, Hungarians, Poles, Germans, and Austrians. Five intense and productive days of commercial activity, an opportunity for Riva del Garda, demonstrating that the Third Urban Pole is within reach.
