Riva del Garda Hosts International Bike-Festival Celebrating Mountain Biking

“Meet the stars.” In Italian, it means “Meet the stars.” This is the slogan adopted by the organizers of the seventh Bike-Festival, the first of the new millennium—if you believe that the new millennium has already begun. About 4,000 to 5,000 participants, 140 exhibitors representing 300 brands, bikers, and curious visitors from around the world.

Participants and Locations

A celebration of two wheels that will return to Riva del Garda starting tomorrow for the joy of enthusiasts (and perhaps hoteliers or campgrounds) and the skepticism of many ordinary citizens, including drivers, who often have to contend with some cyclists displaying less than ideal manners (slalom riding on sidewalks is commonplace).

For four days, however, Riva del Garda will become the worldwide capital of mountain biking. The event begins today, Thursday, April 27, and runs through Monday, May 1. During these four days, thrill-seekers will take center stage.

Festival Venue and Activities

The festival area is, as usual, the former Cattoi site on Viale Rovereto: here, the exhibition zone, competitions, demonstrations, and shows will take place. The ex-Cattoi area will also serve as the meeting point for guided excursions and the finish line of the Bike-Marathon “Carda Trentino”, which this year features a renewed format: 117 kilometers with over 4,000 meters of total elevation gain, considered one of the most beautiful courses in existence.

The Riva event will offer mountain bike lovers the opportunity to test the latest technical innovations even before they are officially released on the market.
