Riviera Festival Celebrates Chiaretto with Wine Tastings and Conference
The Riviera Festival kicks off tomorrow. A three-day event dedicated to Chiaretto organized by the Comune in collaboration with the Consorzio Tutela Vino Bardolino and the Consorzio dell’Olio extravergine di oliva Garda Dop.
Location and activities
Compared to previous editions, the area for stands, sheltered under a large marquee, is entirely gathered in the stunning and suggestive park of Villa Carrara Bottagisio. Among the kiosks, in addition to those of local associations, there is also the one from Isola della Scala ready to serve risotto non-stop.
“An event that officially marks the beginning of the tourist season,” notes Stefano Tagliaferri, assessore, “where wine goes hand in hand with traditional dishes from our area and beyond.” On Saturday morning, starting at 9:30 AM, a conference will be held on Bardolino and the new DOCG, featuring the participation of oenologist Luigi Veronelli.
Conference and institutional greetings
Speakers at the event will include Christian Martino, journalist of Sole 24 Ore (Market scenario), Lucio Bussi from L’Arena (DOCG. From tradition to the future), Beppe Giuliano, director of L’Adige (What communication for a quality wine), and Giulio Liut, vice president of the Onav.
The moderator will be Davide Gaeta, delegated councilor of the Unione Italiana Vini. Among the greetings will be those from mayor Armando Ferrari, Giuseppe Degli Albertini, and Sabino Acquaviva.
Events and tastings
Returning to the festival, guided tastings of Chiaretto wine will be available, along with the opportunity to enjoy evening musical performances comfortably seated inside the large tent.
In particular, on Sunday afternoon at 5:30 PM, the world’s largest risotto will be prepared in the Guinness World Records’ pot. In the morning at the same Sunday, the promenade will host a gathering of vintage motorcycles from all over Triveneto.
