A fatal road accident occurred during the night between Saturday and Sunday on the SP11, in the municipality of Desenzano, around 2 AM. A car collided head-on with a truck, resulting in the death of a 31-year-old woman. Initial investigations suggest that rain may have contributed to the accident, as the truck driver, also 31, attempted to steer but ended up positioning the heavy vehicle in the middle of the roadway in the Fantona Nuova area.
Firefighters responded with a team and a crane to extract the young victim’s body from the wreckage and remove the truck from the road. Upon the arrival of the rescuers, there was nothing that could be done to save the woman’s life. The traffic police conducted the necessary investigations to clarify the dynamics of the incident, while the road remained closed to traffic for several hours due to recovery and assessment operations.
