A road accident occurred last night in Gardone Riviera, near the Grand Hotel, involving a 27-year-old who sustained serious injuries. According to witnesses, a group of young people, likely under the influence of alcohol, engaged in a dangerous challenge by jumping in front of passing cars. After narrowly avoiding several vehicles, one of them was struck by a German-registered Porsche and suffered a violent impact against the sidewalk.
Immediately assisted, the young man was transported to the Civil Hospital, where he is reported to be out of danger. Two patrols from the carabinieri arrived at the scene of the accident and are currently investigating the incident. Authorities seem to agree that the primary cause was this reckless viral challenge, known as “planking,” which endangers the lives of those participating.
