Road checks in Alto Garda: nighttime safety under scrutiny

Alto Garda: New Weekend of Controls, Four Licenses Revoked and Six Drivers Fined Over the last weekend, Alto Garda witnessed an increase in road checks conducted by the Carabinieri of the Arco Station, aimed at ensuring nighttime safety. With three patrols equipped with breathalyzers and drug tests, law enforcement monitored 63 individuals and 44 vehicles. Among these, four drivers – three men and one woman, aged between 29 and 62 – tested positive for alcohol, with levels ranging from 0.64 to 1.46 grams per liter. Their licenses were immediately revoked, with suspensions lasting from one to three months, in addition to a fine of 583 euros each. During the checks, six violations of the Highway Code were recorded, including offenses such as failure to wear seat belts and reckless overtaking. One particularly serious incident involved a driver entering a roundabout in the wrong direction, resulting in an accident with no serious consequences. Additionally, in the historic center of Arco, a young man in an obvious state of intoxication was fined for disturbing the public peace with loud noises. The Carabinieri announced that these operations will continue over the coming weekends to further enhance safety on local roads. Italian Version
