Road checks on Alto Garda: safety for at-risk motorcyclists
Over the past weekend, new road checks were implemented along State Road 240 in the Upper Garda, with a particular focus on the safety of motorcyclists. The Carabinieri from the Arco Station, in collaboration with the Rovereto Mobile Unit, conducted an extraordinary operation to combat dangerous behaviors that tend to increase during the tourist season. A total of 30 high-displacement motorcycles were stopped, and 36 individuals, including drivers and passengers, were identified; the confirmed violations amounted to twelve, including fines for reckless overtaking and crossing solid lines.
During the checks, a foreign tourist nearly hit a police officer while attempting to overtake on a curve and had his license revoked. Additionally, two motorcyclists were fined for irregular technical modifications to their vehicles. A camper driver was found with a blood alcohol level of 1.28 g/l and received an immediate suspension of his license. The Carabinieri announced that such checks will continue over the coming weekends to ensure road safety until the end of the summer season.
