Run for ALS from Venice to Brussels: solidarity and research on neurodegenerative diseases
On Wednesday, September 10, the event “**Venice – Brussels for ALS**” came to a close, marking an important solidarity run that began on August 23 in Venice. The initiative, coordinated by Honorable **Lara Magoni**, saw the participation of numerous institutional representatives and Lions Club members, with the aim of raising funds and raising public awareness about research into **neurodegenerative diseases**. Ultra-marathon runner **Fabrizio Amicabile**, already known for his social commitment, traveled through various countries to deliver a message of hope to the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
The proceeds from the run will be entirely donated to the **NeMO Clinical Center**, which focuses on the care of individuals affected by ALS and other neuromuscular diseases. The event was sponsored by the Veneto Region and the municipalities involved, in addition to the logistical support provided by Lions Clubs along the route. Amicabile expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to this cause, emphasizing the importance of community support in the fight against ALS and in funding scientific research.
