The Hyak project, dedicated to sailing therapy and promoted by ASST Garda, continues to provide an important opportunity for social inclusion for patients from the local Psycho-Social Centers (CPS). Launched in 2018 on the waters of Lower Garda, the program has expanded to include Upper Garda, involving various local associations such as the San Felice del Benaco Sports Club and the Portese Sailing Club. The initiative aims to enhance self-confidence and promote socialization through a journey that combines theory and practice in sailing, addressing topics such as stress management and social interaction.
Thanks to the active participation of family members and caregivers over the past year, the project has seen a significant improvement in social bonds among participants. Fabio Teti, Director of the Complex Structure of Psychiatry Garda Valle Sabbia, emphasizes how Hyak has become a fundamental tool in psychiatric rehabilitation, fostering autonomy and the building of genuine relationships. Roberta Chiesa, General Director of ASST Garda, expressed her support for the project, describing it as a path of rebirth capable of transforming the lives of those involved.
