Salò and Berlinguer: historical analysis at the Lake Garda History Festival
The Lake Garda History Festival is set to host a significant event dedicated to Enrico Berlinguer, a central figure of the Italian left in the twentieth century. The meeting will take place on Saturday, July 19, at 8:30 PM in the Sala dei Provveditori at the municipality of Salò, featuring historian Silvio Pons as the speaker. He will guide the audience through an in-depth analysis of Berlinguer’s life and political legacy, who served as the Secretary of the Italian Communist Party from 1972 until his death in 1984.
This is the third edition of the festival, organized by the Centro Studi Rsi of Salò, presided over by Professor Roberto Chiarini. The program includes five evenings dedicated to notable Italian historical figures, with upcoming discussions on Bettino Craxi and Alcide De Gasperi. The events are free to attend and will be streamed live on the YouTube channel of the Centro Studi Rsi, providing a unique opportunity to reflect on a political era that continues to influence the present.
