Salò Begins Reinforcing Retaining Wall After 2020 Collapse
Salò authorities announced the start of repair work on the retaining wall between Via Cure del Lino and Viale Landi, scheduled to begin on February 12. The project involves wall reinforcement, stone cladding, and the construction of underground water tanks along Viale Landi to channel rainwater to the lake. These measures follow the collapse of the wall on August 24, 2020, caused by heavy rain, which resulted in debris falling onto Via Cure del Lino and damaging three parked cars.
During the first phase of work, expected to last about a month, traffic on Via Cure del Lino will be restricted near the construction site, with access limited to residents and alternating one-way traffic in divided sections. Once completed, full restoration of both Via Cure del Lino and Viale Landi will be carried out, concluding a process initiated after the 2020 collapse.
