Salò Cultural Department Head Hosts Free Concert at Baden Powell Garden
The head of the cultural department of the Comune di Salò, Antonio Del Vecchio, is stepping down (returning to teaching), but is leaving a gift: a concert. This evening at 9 PM, in the Baden Powell Garden overlooking the lake, he will perform with his «Stile libero quartet». Open to friends and anyone interested in listening to high-quality songs.
The band was formed in 1994 as a hobby and driven by a passion: to recreate, in an acoustic style, some of the songs that marked most Italian teenagers, often played with friends on buses returning from excursions or at the beaches.
Repertoire and Musical Influences
The repertoire includes the most beautiful songs, reinterpreted by the talented musicians from Salò, such as De Gregori, De André, Bennato, Mannoia, Fossati, Battisti, Baglioni, along with significant «international incursions» like Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, and The Dire Straits.
Recently, the quartet expanded its sound, incorporating South American influences and performing pieces from the «Buena Vista Social Club».
Group Composition and Purpose
The «Stile libero» consists of artists who, despite playing for passion, have performed on numerous stages. The band includes Carlo Rossini (guitar, harmonica, vocals), Lorenzo Resini (double bass, bass, vocals), Alessandro Todeschini (drums, percussion), and, of course, Antonio Del Vecchio (piano, guitar, vocals), who has been temporarily replaced in municipal events by Katia Pasquali.
The evening at the Baden Powell Garden, free of charge, promises a wide showcase of «evergreen» songs, which are sure to evoke sweet memories and deep emotions in the audience.
In case of bad weather, the concert will be held at the Teatro Cristal.
