Salò Mourns Aurelio Nastuzzo

Aurelio Nastuzzo, 78, died on Friday in Salò, where he spent much of his life in public service and civic initiatives. He served as a city councillor from 1985 to 1992 and as an environmental and ecology councillor from 1992 to 1995 and again from 2009 to 2014.

Nastuzzo founded the “Amici del Golfo” association in 1999, focused on caring for the local area, cleaning beaches and promoting city routes. Among his projects were the “Strada delle Margherite,” the “Carnevale del Sole,” and the “Antiche Rive” promenade along the Salò gulf from the Carmine quay to the cemetery. In November 2025 he received the “Premio Gasparo.” His funeral will be held on Monday, 10 August at 10:30 in the Salò Cathedral, departing from Casa Funeraria Tedeschi on Via San Benedetto, followed by burial in the city cemetery.
