The Antica Fiera del Bestiame di San Michél returns to Prada Bassa from 27 to 29 September, with three days focused on livestock traditions, local food and entertainment. The event is organised by the municipalities of San Zeno di Montagna and Brenzone sul Garda, with support from local associations and Coldiretti Verona, highlighting the agricultural history of the Garda mountain area.
On Sunday 27 September, the fair opens at 8.00 with the admission of livestock at the Prada Bassa exhibition area. From 8.30, visitors can browse the fair market stalls with tools and equipment for livestock farming, while at 9.30 a technical commission carries out the official inspection of the animals. Around 10.00, there is the practical workshop "Facciamo il formaggio con Giovanni". Enogastronomic stands open at 11.00, with continuous musical entertainment by the folkloric duo I Vagabondi; at 12.00 there is a salute from the authorities, and at 13.00 prizes are awarded to the best animals and to young breeders, closing the first day.
On Tuesday 29 September, activities continue with a Santa Messa at 10.30 at the Church of San Bartolomeo in Prada, officiated by Don Giovanni Pippa, with music by Maestro Stefano Romani (piano) and mezzosoprano Ida Maria Turri, followed by a free-entry refreshment. Later, from 11.00 BALDOALLEVA, together with Coldiretti Verona, holds the third edition of Transumanza; at 13.30 the Battesimo della Sella is scheduled by the Circolo Ippico Valpolicella, at 14.30 registrations open for the first friendly competition of the gioco della Morra, and at 16.30 the 12th edition of the "Trippa Regina" food competition takes place at Ristorante Al Cacciatore. To help visitors from Brenzone, a paid minibus transfer service runs on 29 September by booking and subject to availability, with departures at 8.00 and 9.30 and returns at 15.30 and 17.00; bookings can be made at the IAT office in Brenzone on 045 7420076 or via WhatsApp on 371 5570391 (open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 18:00, Via Zanardelli 38, località Porto, Brenzone sul Garda). The programme also includes a farmers' dinner on Monday 28 September at 20.00 at Ristorante Al Cacciatore, and on Wednesday 30 September at 12.00 Coldiretti Verona holds a conference at Palazzo Cà Montagna on "Prodotti di Montagna: Qualità, Sicurezza e Nuove Opportunità di Filiera", with membership sign-up and the presentation of BALDOALLEVA.
