Salò Museum Hosts Photo Exhibition Showcasing Michele Gusmeri’s Portrait of Adamello Glacier

A new photographic exhibition at MuSa in Salò, titled “The Last Days – The Adamello Glacier in Michele Gusmeri’s Photographs,” highlights the urgent environmental issue of glacier retreat during the International Year of Glaciers. Featuring 33 large-format analog images, the show documents the dramatic melting of the Adamello Glacier, emphasizing the importance of environmental preservation.

Photographer Michele Gusmeri used historic equipment, including an 1863 Petzval lens, to develop negatives directly on the glacier, creating detailed Fine Art prints on museum-quality paper. The exhibit also includes a short film by Matteo Sandrini and Paolo Guarneri, showcasing the photographic expedition’s challenges and discoveries. The exhibition is open until April 12, 2026, with tickets ranging from €5 to €9, organized by the Brescia section of the Italian Alpine Club.
