Salò Project Demands Transparency on Underwater Pipeline Between Toscolano and Brescia

Salò’s Nuovo Progetto Salò council group has submitted a motion to the municipality demanding greater transparency and direct citizen involvement in the proposed sublacual pipeline project between Toscolano and Salò. The project, presented to Brescia’s ATO Office and recently discussed in a strategic meeting, involves replacing the original land-based pipeline with a shorter underwater conduit in Salò’s gulf, which could cut execution time from three years to five months but increase costs by €5 million.

The motion requests that once the final project is public, an open municipal council meeting be convened within fifteen days to discuss the intervention, outline administrative steps and communications, and identify qualified participants to attend. The proposal aims to enhance public participation and oversight before project approval.
