Salò Volunteers Review Decades of Service at Solidarietà Salodiana Meeting

During the annual meeting held a few days ago in Salò, volunteers who have been part of the «Solidarietà salodiana» association for the past five decades reviewed their financial statements and outlined the main activities planned for 2000.

Alongside President Dr. Angelo Gasparotti, attended were Mayor Avv. Giampiero Cipani, Social Services Councillor Dr. Maurizio De Giuli, and the President of Casa di riposo rag. Sergio Scioli.

Thanks and Activities

President Gasparotti’s thanks were primarily addressed to the large group of individuals dedicated to sustaining the association, which, through its diverse activities, manages to engage the elderly, highlighting friendliness, good sentiments, dialogue, and life stories.

This engagement takes place within the Casa di riposo and during home-delivered meal services, such as providing food to hospital patients.

Gasparotti also expressed gratitude towards the municipal institution, which, with trust and generosity, supports the association’s work.

“This year,” said the president, “we recorded income from private individuals of nearly twenty million lire. It is certainly a sign of the appreciation that people feel for our dedicated operators and evidence of the trust that our institution has earned from the city.”

The volunteers are already preparing to operate in the brand new residenza sanitaria assistenziale (Rsa), which will open its doors after the summer.

Investments and Results

The same President, rag. Sergio Scioli, acknowledged that, together with his predecessor, Sig. Marisa Basso, he has overseen the completion of a facility with an investment exceeding 10 billion lire.

“Thanks to the volunteers,” Scioli explained, “the gloom and sadness of the old shelters have disappeared; today, the elderly feel ‘adopted’ by the community and are happy.”

Conclusions and Commitments

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mayor Cipani and Councillor De Giuli reassured their commitment to paying close attention to the issues facing the elderly.
