Salvatore Accardo Prepares International Tour and New Season at Sirmione

For four years now, the tradition has been renewed of the renowned violinist and conductor Salvatore Accardo being a guest at the Terme in Sirmione to prepare the artistic season alongside his young musicians who form the Italian Chamber Orchestra.

This year as well, the Sicilian violinist has been in “retreat” to refresh his mind and “warm up” his instruments in anticipation of a tour cycle that will again see him as a protagonist worldwide.

In fact, in February, he will be in Germany for two weeks, followed by a brief appearance in Italy, then starting again with two quick trips to the Ankara and Tirana festivals.

First time in Albania and international tours

Accardo will therefore be visiting Albania for the first time. Then to Paris, the Far East… and finally, almost certainly in 2001, in the magical hall of Palazzo Madama, home of the Senato.

Yesterday, at lunchtime, Salvatore Accardo presented the new season to the senior staff of the Terme society, headed by CEO Filippo Fernè, to whom he also previewed the concert scheduled for May 5 as a homage to the city of Verona, which has hosted him for several years now.

The venue for this performance has not yet been confirmed: it could be the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Neve or the renovated Palacongressi.

Musical program and tributes

Regarding Accardo’s logistical program, that’s the outline. As for his musical content, the maestro from Palermo has shared some previews.

For example, a tribute to Astor Piazzolla, his great and sincere friend, “disregarded by musicians when he was alive, then reevaluated after his death.”
