During the 73rd Wine Fair in Polpenazze, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, addressed the issues related to rising costs in construction sites, highlighting how these have impacted the resources available for the development of local infrastructure. Arriving shortly before 4 PM from the Economy Festival in Trento, Salvini met with producers and artisans, emphasizing the importance of integrating agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure to revitalize the local economy. He specified that cuts to road maintenance are due to the increased costs of PNRR projects and confirmed the commitment to recover the funds earmarked for 2025.

Salvini also discussed the high-speed train station to be built in San Martino di Desenzano, with costs now estimated at 200 million euros compared to the initially projected 60 million. He reiterated that the government is working on projects related to road infrastructure around the lake and on enhancing water transport in anticipation of the summer. Welcomed by Mayor Maria Rosa Avanzini and other local officials, the minister also tackled political topics, stating that the decision regarding a potential third term rests with the citizens.
