Scam Alert: Fake Carabinieri Calls Targeting Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining money, do not show up again.
