Scam Alert: Fake Carabinieri Impersonators Targeting Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not actual military personnel but con artists who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or local government officials.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you are being targeted by individuals who, after receiving money, disappear.
