Scam Alert: Impersonators Offer Fake Police Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines related to the force.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, the fire department, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear.
