Scam Calls Impersonate Police, Carabinieri in Garda Area

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to fictitious magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
