Scammers Fake Carabinieri Calls Targeting Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, on different occasions, claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply call 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
