Scammers Fake Police Calls to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the armed forces‘ magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
