Scammers Faking Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazines in Garda Area

They pretend to be Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the armed forces‘ magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

have money, but then disappear.
