Scammers Falsely Claim to Be Carabinieri Offering Fake Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, fire brigades, or the municipal police.

Recognizing Frauds

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they are after money, tend to disappear altogether.
