Scammers Impersonate Authorities to Trick Garda Region Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to the regiment’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
