Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Contacting Garda Area Businesses

They are posing as Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the armée magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri— just dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and no longer show themselves.
