Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri for Fraudulent Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, craftsmen, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions by phone, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be alert and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
