Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area Alarm Calls

They impersonate Carabinieri when making telephone contact with hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the arm’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, firefighters, or Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
