Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area for Fraudulent Magazine Sales

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the central and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the Arma.

These are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to financial authorities, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to fake or unrelated magazines that have no connection to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
