Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area Phone Calls

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines related to the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, firefighters, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
