Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area Phone Scams
They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines published by the force.
They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal vigilantes.
Recognizing the scams
They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the authorities.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
