Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area Safety Alert

They impersonate carabinieri when making telephone calls to hoteliers, retailers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions of the Carabinieri.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the urban police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those with no connection to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by someone who,
