Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Pose as Law Enforcement

They pose as carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to Army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, on different occasions, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or urban police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications completely unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
