Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but con artists who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, firefighters, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be alert and immediately inform the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, after receiving the money, disappears.
